Our Experience in Action
Operational excellence.
Strategic growth.
Lasting value.
Our portfolio reflects how Scalzo Hospitality brings strategy to life. From owner-operated hotels and food and beverage concepts to early-stage development initiatives, each project demonstrates how disciplined execution, entrepreneurial thinking, and long-term partnership translate into tangible results.
As owner-operators, we approach every management asset with an ownership mindset—protecting value, aligning stakeholders, and elevating performance. Whether managing established properties, launching distinctive hospitality brands, or shaping new destinations from the ground up, we put our experience into action to turn vision into lasting value.
Owned & Operated
Just steps from the gates of Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, California, the Park Vue Inn embodies the Scalzo promise of Remarkable Hospitality. Rooted in place, purpose, and people, the refreshed upscale boutique hotel is the benchmark of guest-centered hospitality in the heart of Anaheim. And it’s our pride and joy. Originally built by our founder and family patriarch, Carmen Scalzo, the hotel has welcomed generations of families visiting “The Happiest Place on Earth” since 1962. With thoughtful comfort and intentional design, the Park Vue Inn delivers consistent, family-friendly service that turns stays into stories.
Delta Hotels by Marriott Minneapolis Northeast is a testament to purposeful transformation and our dedication to elevating hospitality experiences through intentional design and community connection. Acquired as a Ramada Plaza in 2009, we partnered with Marriott International to reimagine the property into an upscale, modern hotel with streamlined comfort, elegant design, and intuitive service. Guided by the brand’s “Simple Made Perfect®” philosophy, we refreshed all 246 guest rooms and over 10,000 square feet of flexible event space into a dynamic hub for both business and leisure travelers. Only a short drive from the city’s dynamic, evolving downtown area and several business hubs—and just a 10-minute walk from renowned Ridgway Parkway Park—the Delta Minneapolis NE is now more than a place to stay, it’s a place people return to.

“That was the difference. You were engaged in the project. You were the project.”

Named after the iconic “400 Line” passenger train that once connected Chicago to the Twin Cities in just 400 minutes, the Twin Cities 400 Tavern is Scalzo’s signature restaurant and a project we are extremely proud of. Connected to our Delta property, we wanted to create an independent restaurant where our neighbors and guests could experience the unique hospitality and sociability of the Twin Cities right on site. The Twin Cities 400 Tavern honors the Minnesota come-as-you-are culture and a proud era of Midwest travel—where quality, comfort, and hospitality were always on track. To capture that spirit, we designed a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a locally inspired menu featuring bold, approachable American fare—including an award-winning Kickin’ Kimchi Burger. At the Twin Cities 400 Tavern, both first-time visitors and regulars find a place where friends gather, conversations flow, and every meal is worth the trip. We’re proud to say it’s more than just a stop along the way—it’s a destination.

Opened in 2008, Cold Stone Creamery Anaheim reflects our instinct, focus, and discipline. Recognizing Cold Stone as one of the most dynamic franchises of 2007, we acquired a high-impact property adjacent to Park Vue Inn and directly across from Disneyland® Resort. To leverage the full potential of the location and Cold Stone’s reputation, we designed the shop to deliver high volume with premium margins. It quickly became one of the top 10 grossing Cold Stone shops in the nation. Like every Scalzo venture, Cold Stone Creamery Anaheim blends family-friendly hospitality with operational excellence—an approach that transformed this guest touchpoint into a high-performing asset.
Concept Design & Development
The Villa Meri is a one-of-a-kind luxury boutique hotel inspired by the Scalzo family’s Sicilian roots, blending Mediterranean warmth with intentional design and refined hospitality. Currently in design and development, construction is scheduled to break ground in 2029. Tucked just across from the joyful chaos of Disneyland®, The Villa Meri offers families a soulful counterbalance—a place to rest, rejuvenate, and recharge.
Designed to evoke the charm of a southern Italian village, the property features winding stone paths, arched walkways, textured plaster walls, shaded courtyards, and iron balconies that frame a private, serene atmosphere. Insulated from the hustle and bustle of Anaheim, each room and suite is crafted with artisanal finishes, heirloom furnishings, and a deeply personal attention to detail—creating a luxurious home away from home.
Families are welcomed not just to a hotel, but to a curated escape—complete with open-air dining, a garden espresso bar, and a hidden wine cellar offering Sicilian varietals. They find a timeless place that delivers warm, personal service, elevated Italian fare, and luxurious comfort.
Rooted in authentic hospitality, the Villa Meri is where families come to slow down, settle in, and reconnect after a fast-paced day in the park.
Developed in close collaboration with Canterbury Park and leading partners, including renowned architectural firm Shea, Inc., the Courtyard by Marriott – Trackside is a complete hospitality concept envisioned for one of Minnesota’s most dynamic entertainment districts. Leading the early-stage development, we created a one-of-a-kind concept that blends leisure, sport, and equestrian tradition into an elevated hotel experience.
The vision centered on a trackside setting overlooking the first turn of Canterbury Park’s premier equestrian track, supported by a co-branding strategy that paired Marriott’s Courtyard flag with a distinct collection of villa-style suites. Designed to provide families and small groups with a more personal and flexible stay, this dual-format offering was conceived to accommodate both short- and extended-stay demand, drawing on a wide range of drivers, including the nearby Mystic Lake Amphitheater, Minnesota’s largest outdoor music venue.
Aligned with Canterbury’s long-term Master Plan, the concept was thoughtfully positioned to support the area’s broader transformation into a live-stay-play destination. From the brand narrative to a guest experience strategy to architectural coordination and site integration, the project stands as a clear example of Scalzo Hospitality’s capabilities in hotel concept design, storytelling, and development planning for complex, experience-driven destinations.
